Crisis Committees

United Nations Security Council (UNSC)

The Security Council (UNSC), one of 6 principal UN bodies, is accountable for ensuring international peace and security. The Council meets to assess acts of aggression, and provide the necessary solution and resources to effectively restore peace and security.

The Chinese Civil War (Nationalists + Communists)

This year, CNYMUN will be hosting a joint crisis committee.
The Chinese Civil War was one of the bloodiest and most impactful civil wars in history. The Nationalists, under Chiang Kai Shek, and the Communists, under Mao Zedong, were locked in fierce combat until Japan’s invasion in 1937, forcing the two sides into a United Front to save China. With Japan defeated, the uneasy alliance has broken. Delegates will take the roles of key players on both sides as the future of China and the world will be in their hands.
