Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD)
The Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) is a subsidiary body of ECOSOC that was created in 1992. The plenary has made significant impacts in advising the UN on science and technology issues and the appropriate policy recommendations to subsequently follow through with.
Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ)
The UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), established by a 1992 ECOSOC resolution, deals with international responses to domestic and international criminal activity. The commission works to combat crime and promote fair and efficient methods of criminal justice.
World Health Organization (WHO)
The World Health Organization was founded in 1948 as a specialized committee to work worldwide to promote health, keep the world safe, and to serve the vulnerable. Though the mandate is very brief, the plenary has made significant impacts including promoting global health, expanding universal health coverage, and responding to emergencies which have protected the lives of people globally giving back to people of all ages.
Comission on the Status of Women (CSW)
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality, the rights and the empowerment of women. Since its implementation in 1946, it has set global standards for benchmarks and policy frameworks for the futures of women globally.
